Is my story too messy for God to redeem?
Several years ago, I was driving down the highway in New Hampshire when I saw this pickup on the side of the road. I had to jump out and get a picture of it. It held so much beauty, despite — or maybe because of — its chipped paint, faded colors, rusty bumper, and broken windows.
Since then, I've called it "my truck." It has a story to tell. And much like mine and yours, it most likely includes beauty and brokenness, love and loss, joy and pain. What I love most is that it's messy and authentic and somewhat vulnerable — sitting on the side of the highway, open and exposed.
I feel a kinship with this busted-up old truck. We're a beautiful mess, sharing the message of redemption with all who stop long enough to listen to our stories.
When you get my newsletters, listen to my podcast, or attend an event, I hope you'll feel it too — the freedom to bring your whole self, mess and all! I'm not much for faking things, and because of Jesus, we can be honest with each other, knowing His grace covers all our dents and dings.
Together, let's discover the beauty God creates in us, even in the midst of our brokenness.
