these are my people!!
Every time I tell the miraculous story of how my family came together, I am reminded of God’s sovereignty and sense of humor. We made our plans, and God pretty much ignored them and put together a bunch of people He knew needed each other.
Our family story entails an Italian Jersey girl and a quiet Midwestern boy, a bout with infertility, adoption after disruption, and two sets of twins. We went from zero to five children in three and a half years and have been on this crazy train of parenting for over twenty. Our story involves navigating the challenges and blessings of ministry life, moving more times than I ever wanted, and trusting God to never leave us or forsake us.
I’ve got a sign hanging in my bedroom that says, “Love is worth the journey.” That’s what our family has been. A journey of hope deferred and realized, of love challenged and renewed, of failures and forgiveness, and of the faithfulness of God through it all. One of these days I’m going to write the whole story.
